Concerns over traffic death toll despite reduction

Despite the traffic accident rate having decreased by 942 cases last year, a senior Public Works Ministry official expressed concerns over the death toll.
Min Manavy, a secretary of state for the Ministry of Public Works, expressed concern over the number of road accidents as the death toll still remains high, especially the number of motorcyclists and those not wearing helmets at the time of the accidents.
She said all road users should continue to be careful while driving and to strictly abide by all road traffic laws.
She called on people to obey the law in order to protect their own lives
