Japanese coach optimistic on Cambodia’s future in karate

The Japanese coach training Cambodian karate athletes said he is optimistic of Cambodia’s future in the sport.
In an exclusive interview facilitated by the Japan Embassy in Cambodia, Shohei Toyama said that Cambodian athletes have the attitude and skills to succeed.  “They study and train very hard,” he stressed.
Toyama, together with an Iranian coach named Hassan, was tapped by the Cambodia Karate Federation (CKF) to train its athletes ahead of major international competitions, including the 2023 Southeast Asian Games.
