Cambodia scored 21 out of 100 on Transparency International’s (TI) Corruption Perception Index (CPA) for 2020, a one point improvement over last year’s score of 20.
Cambodia ranked 160 out of the 180 countries involved in the global initiative to assess levels of corruption.
TI Cambodia offered a list of key recommendations to the government in order to improve its score.
They included amending articles in the Anti-Corruption Law, especially concerning public officials declaring assets.
Laws to protect whistleblowers and grant access to information were also suggested by TI Cambodia.
