Sokha’s lawyers ask for his trial to resume a third time

A group of former opposition leader Kem Sokha’s lawyers have submitted a letter to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for the third time, asking to it to resume Sokha’s treason trial after it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic early last year.
However, the Phnom Penh Municipal Court said the Sokha case is “not a high priority” as he remains on bail, saying the court needs to hear many other cases in which the accused are under pre-trial detention.
